The calculation accounts for leap years and varying month lengths to give you an exact age in years, months, and days.

Chronological age is your age measured in time units (years, months, days) from your date of birth to the present or a specific date. It's different from biological age, which refers to how old your body seems based on health factors.

Different cultures calculate age differently:

• Western: Age increases on your birthday
• East Asian (traditional): Born at age 1, increases on New Year
• Some cultures: Use lunar calendar for age calculation

A leap year has 366 days instead of 365. February has 29 days instead of 28.

Leap years occur every 4 years, except for years divisible by 100 (unless also divisible by 400).

If you're born on Feb 29, you only have a "real" birthday every 4 years!
